Stanford sits 36 miles south of Lexington in Lincoln County, where farmhouses, barns, and in-town homes face the same brutal seasonal swings that plague the whole Bluegrass region: scorching, humid summers that bake attics and drive cooling bills skyward, and sharp winter cold snaps that expose every gap and poorly sealed rim joist in the foundation. Most Stanford homes rest on crawl spaces or limestone basements that stay damp long after a hard rain, and older houses often carry thin, settled attic insulation that stopped working years ago.
Lexington Spray Foam Insulation has served Stanford and the surrounding Lincoln County countryside since 2009. We know the housing stock here, the moisture challenges that come with the terrain, and what it takes to seal and insulate a home so it stays comfortable and affordable to heat and cool year-round.

Stanford homeowners call us with the same problems we see across Greater Lexington: an attic that bakes in July and August, pushing the air conditioner into overdrive; a room over a garage or at the end of a duct run that never reaches temperature; condensation or damp insulation in a crawl space after heavy rain; and uninsulated or poorly sealed rim joists where heat pours out every winter. The housing mix here ranges from older farmhouses with vented attics and thin fiberglass to mid-century ranch homes with closed walls that were never insulated at all, to newer construction where bonus rooms and cathedral ceilings create complex roof lines that need an air barrier to stay comfortable.
Closed cell and open cell spray foam handle these jobs differently. Closed cell is denser, carries a higher R-value per inch, and creates a vapor barrier that resists moisture drive in both directions, making it the choice for crawl spaces, rim joists, and sealed roof decks where the summer heat and winter cold both pull hard. Open cell is lighter, lower cost, and works well in attics and walls where vapor permeability matters and the space is already ventilated or conditioned. We assess each job on site and specify what the building actually needs, not what sells the highest ticket.
Our team is fully insured and has been doing this work in Stanford and across Lincoln County since 2009. Every estimate includes R-value and thickness specifications so you know exactly what you are paying for and what code requires at your address.

How a Job Works in Stanford
We start with a free on-site assessment. You walk us through what is not working: a cold room, a damp crawl space, a cooling bill that has become unaffordable. We look at the attic, crawl space, rim joists, walls, or garage that needs work, measure the square footage, check for moisture, settled or contaminated insulation, and talk through whether foam is the right answer or whether blown-in insulation on top of a sound attic is cheaper and sufficient. We give you a written estimate with R-value and thickness specifications so you know what you are getting and what it will cost.
On the day of the work, our crew arrives with equipment and material staged for the scope. If insulation has to come out first, we remove it and haul it away. We set up mechanical ventilation during spray application so fumes do not accumulate. Spray foam cures as it is applied, and we respect a re-entry window of twenty-four to forty-eight hours before the space is occupied again, depending on the cell type and the size of the area. If you are living in the home during the work, we coordinate the timing and ventilation so the disruption is minimal.
Once the foam has cured, we do a final walkthrough with you, confirm coverage and thickness, and leave your property clean. Any trim or drywall work stays your responsibility, but the insulation and air sealing are done right.
Pricing for spray foam insulation in Stanford depends on the scope, the area to cover, the R-value and thickness you need, and what has to be removed or repaired first. An attic foam job typically runs from $1.50 per square foot for open cell to $1.20 per board foot for closed cell, depending on the depth and coverage. Wall injection foam starts around $2 per square foot. A crawl space job is usually quoted as a whole project, starting around $2,500, because access, moisture conditions, and the perimeter all factor in. Rim and band joist sealing starts around $650, and insulation removal runs from $950 on up. If you have existing insulation that is wet, contaminated, or settled and needs to come out before new foam goes in, that adds to the bill, but it has to happen or the new insulation will fail.
